How we will be involved with National Manufacturing Day:

This year, Chesterfield is launching its Made in Chesterfield initiative in a big way—by kicking things off with a major event on National Manufacturing Day!

Local schools, students, and businesses will come together to shine a spotlight on the exciting world of manufacturing and engineering. It’s all part of a nationwide celebration designed to raise awareness of the opportunities the sector offers—and to inspire the next generation of talent.

We’re proud to share that CBE+ will be taking part in this important event, opening our doors to local students and showcasing the wide range of careers available within our business—from CNC machining and plating to quality, design, and project management.

What’s Happening:

• Employers like CBE+ will welcome students into their workplaces for tours and hands-on insight into modern manufacturing. 

• Where tours aren’t possible, students will still get a glimpse inside through engaging presentations and videos. 

• Pupils will take part in an Innovation Challenge developed by the Work-wise Foundation, encouraging them to think creatively and apply their learning. 

• Later in the year, schools will present their ideas at a celebration event at the University of Derby, alongside participating businesses.

This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to explore potential careers, understand the skills needed in the industry, and see how local companies like CBE+ are leading the way in innovation and advanced manufacturing.

Made in Chesterfield is all about connecting education with real-world industry—starting with a day of inspiration, discovery, and opportunity on National Manufacturing Day.
