About the event
Alcohols Limited is a fine alcohols distribution company which was formed in 1955 as a subsidiary of The Palmer Group. It is a private family company founded in 1805 which is still family owned today. We have invested in a multi million purpose built site based just off the A5 in Rugby and we will start commissioning in autumn 2023, where our main solvents and distillery production facilities will be based. The fine alcohols business supplies raw materials to manufacturing industries across a broad customer base - Automotive to Pharmaceuticals - working with our global supply chain partners Via our premier beverage business, Langley Distillery, Alcohols Limited supplies the global drinks market with a range of white and brown spirits, and alcoholic beverages. In 1908 W H Palmer became one of the first companies licensed by HMRC to make denatured Alcohols. To this day, distillation takes place, using traditional methods, the highest quality neutral alcohol and botanicals and some of the oldest working stills in the UK, to make award winning Gin.
How we will be involved with National Manufacturing Day:
We are opening our doors to local schools with a morning session aimed at 13-16 year olds and an afternoon session for those studying A Levels or equivalent. You will spend about 90 minutes on site with us where we will take you on a tour of our new facility explaining our production processes. You will also enjoy an interactive session with our Operations Director and Technical & Regulatory Affairs Manager to learn about how our chemicals are used in a wide range of recognisable products interspersed with team challenges and building understanding of what is involved in processing ethanol and flammables liquids.
Times and available spaces: 10am - 11.30am (30 places) and 1pm-2.30pm (20 places)
